The origin of the Pub

The " Pub Le Mitan" is located in a house that was built in 1868. This building has been built and owned by the Prémont family from the beginning until its acquisition by the microbrewery in 2006.

In the 19th century, the first telegragh office and the first telephone exchange were located in this house. Incidently, a Prémont's foremother was responsable for the telephone exchange. In the early forties, the Prémont butcher shop succeded to these businesses. Along the years, the building underwent three extensions in 1947, 1957 and 1977.

The butcher shop gained a solid reputation over the years, namely with its Easter smoked ham. Customers came from as far as Montréal to purchase this delicacy. The recipe has always been kept secret by Floriant. Established by Ubald Prémont at the era of the horse-drawn vehicules, the butcher shop has always been proud of the quality of its products and the satisfaction of its vast clientele. Following the shutdown of the shop, the building was purchased by " Microbrasserie d'Orléans inc. ".

The modifications to the building were started in january of 2006 to end with the opening of the Pub on june the 27th of the same year. The appreciation of the population of the island, the people of the québec region, visitors from the province, from Canada, from the United States and from abroad , was a great reward for the Pub team.

Join the crowd, come sample an home made beer and  typical cuisine. Enjoy our partially covered terrace overlooking the St-Lawrence river. This relaxed stop is a must
