In 2005, Jean, a brewer with a ten year experience, and is father-in-law François, decided to set-up a microbrewery. Jean beeing a resident of " L'Île d'Orléans", the partners started to explore the island looking for a suitable place to install their microbrewery.
An opportunity came up around Christmas of the same year. The Prémont brothers, Floriant and Jules, owners of the butcher shop " Ubald Prémont et fils", having nobody to take over, decided to put their building up for sale. The " Microbrasserie d'Orléans" was born as Jean and François bought the building in january of 2006.
In june of the same year, the first beer was brewed in " Ste-Famille, Île d'Orléans ". The highly mineralised water drawn from the site happened to be a real asset in brewing English beers. In the summer of 2006, the beers produced by the microbrewery were exclusively commercialised through the "Pub Le Mitan ", localised in the same building. And soon, in december 2006, the bottling started. Since then, our beers can be found in many cities across the province.
